Charging station with credit card payment
Ittingen Charterhouse - old values lived anew. The foundation looks back on a long history. In the 8th century, Ittingen Castle was the seat of the Lords of Ittingen. Several centuries later, Emperor Frederick III handed the monastery over to the Carthusians. Monks lived in the Charterhouse for 700 years. With the decline of the old Swiss Confederation and the adoption of the Federal Constitution of the Swiss Confederation in 1848, the monastery was dissolved.
The Ittingen Charterhouse Foundation was established a good 40 years ago. Much has changed in recent years. Monastic values such as culture, spirituality, education, care, hospitality and self-sufficiency now come together here. There is something for everyone. Relaxed days in the hotel, a place for a seminar, a venue for a birthday party, delicious food in the Mühle restaurant or your own products in the monastery store. The Charterhouse also includes an estate with cultivated land, forest and an alp in Toggenburg, a home and workshop for men and women with mental or cognitive disabilities, the Ittinger Museum, the Thurgau Art Museum and much more.
The fame and indescribable atmosphere of Ittingen Charterhouse attract many visitors to Warth near Frauenfeld. They travel there by public transport or by car. In order to keep up with the times here too, the possibility of installing a charging station for electric cars was investigated. This resulted in this project.
