Optimize performance and save money
When is a load management system used?

Intelligent load management is a system for the charging infrastructure of electric cars and e-vehicles. It distributes the available charging capacity of the power grid to the various charging stations to which the electric cars are connected. A load management system can prioritize charging processes for selected electric vehicles and also pause them as soon as a vehicle is fully charged. This not only saves electricity and costs, but also ensures that the cars are charged on time.

Technical data

When is a load management system used?

Load management is used when the local power grid cannot provide enough energy for all the cars to be charged. For example, in existing apartment buildings, companies or parking facilities, cables are often not suitable for a modern charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. They would not be able to cope with the simultaneous charging of several electric cars. While expanding the house connection line involves a great deal of effort and high costs, load management can avoid this financial and logistical effort. The integration of a load management system ensures an even, safe and optimized charging capacity for all connected vehicles. For example, charging peaks are balanced out, the available charging power is evenly distributed among the vehicles to be charged and the power supply is automatically paused as soon as the car is fully charged. With load management systems from Optec, electricity, money and wasted energy can be saved.

Dynamic load management from Optec

With static load management, a certain maximum power is divided evenly between different charging stations. The specified maximum power can be set at a master charging station, which transmits this information to the slave charging stations to which the cars are connected. With dynamic load management, on the other hand, the current power consumption is measured directly at the source of the grid connection. The charging power for the electric vehicles is continuously adjusted at the charging stations in use based on the measured value. The energy supply is automatically paused as soon as the dynamic load management system detects that a connected car is fully charged. This e-mobility solution can be used to optimize charging performance and save energy and costs.

Smart energy management at Optec

Today, intelligent charging is a basic requirement for any charging infrastructure and dynamic load management has become indispensable for e-mobility charging stations. With Optec's load management, prioritizing and pausing certain charging processes is already included in the control system. The energy is also distributed flexibly to the various charging stations and the e-cars connected to them.

Regardless of the type of consumer source, our solution for load management in electromobility with Smart Grid can be used for apartment buildings, in industry or in the public sector for e-buses, for example. Charging can be intelligently designed anywhere.

The Optec approach

We use a measurement kit to measure the total consumption of vehicle charging and get an idea of the charging infrastructure. We then create a plan that optimally distributes the available energy to the individual charging points. In this way, each electric vehicle is recharged in good time and as soon as the battery is full, the power is paused and distributed to other charging points. This solution not only saves connection costs but also electricity costs.

So simple - so efficient.
