The new construction project for a large central logistics center for the European market presented our customer with new challenges. Various needs were identified in connection with this.
- Monitoring the network quality
- Early notification of irregularities
- Separate billing of the various systems
- Transparency in energy consumption
- Storage and evaluation of energy data
- Automated evaluation
- High availability of systems, e.g. the robots in the high-bay warehouse
- Monitoring of operationally relevant consumers through all-current sensitive residual current measurement
Our solution
We were happy to take on this project.
The supply lines are measured with class A UMG 512 network analyzers and evaluated in accordance with EN50160. This ensures that the energy drawn or supplied complies with the standards at all times. All energy outputs are measured and monitored with the UMG 96-PA. The analog output of the UMG 96-PA is directly integrated into the customer's control system. This means that the company always has the output of the 1000 kWp PV system under control.
The multi-channel RCMS460 is used for residual current measurement. When selecting the devices, special care was taken to ensure that AC/DC sensitive residual current transformers are used. This means that direct current components can also be reliably filtered out. The COM465IP used reliably logs the data. Any change in the residual currents can be monitored via web visualization and action can be taken if necessary.
The GridVis® service software was used to evaluate and save the data. It allows all operationally relevant data to be recorded automatically and can automatically trigger an alarm if a set value is exceeded. This could be excessive loads on the outgoing circuits, an excessively high N conductor current or an excessively high residual current. The technical service has the system permanently under control and can intervene before any damage occurs. The installed software regularly generates power quality reports in accordance with EN50160, energy bills and system utilization reports.
Benefits for our customers
Our customer has the energy consumption of its new system under control. The increased availability of operationally relevant systems ensures operation and virtually eliminates unplanned downtimes.
By using GridVis® Service, third-party devices could also be integrated into the energy management system. This provides the customer with even greater benefits. They now have one software for everything - energy management, billing, capacity utilization and thus ensuring the high availability of their systems.
