Previous collaboration with Optec on the new building at Messe Zürich and Messe Basel had already resulted in positive experiences on both sides. They were also very satisfied with the UMG 503 and UMG 508 measuring devices used, which is why they decided to work together again. The implementation at Messe Zürich was ultimately carried out in cooperation with Lang + Co Elektro AG. The UMG measuring devices were programmed and installed at various distribution points in the power grid. For the implementation of the project at Messe Basel, Optec AG was supported by the renowned switchgear manufacturer Jaisli Xamax AG as a partner company. In order to enable central control for an optimized energy supply, 61 of the highly sensitive UMG 508 network analyzers were installed. By using the GridVis® network visualization software for both projects, it was possible to record and display all the measurement data supplied without any gaps. Graphs and a topological view were chosen to visualize the measurement data. In addition, limit values were defined to provide early warning of excessive increases in the individual consumption groups. The maximum power warnings are also sent to the responsible persons by e-mail. After installation, Optec checked the entire measurement system and carried out the commissioning of the entire system, including software integration and data transfer to the control system. Finally, training was provided for the GridVis® users.
