Produce and share solar power

Produce and share solar power

Combination of own consumption - ZEV

Self-consumption associations are the model of the future in the field of smart metering and renewable energies. This involves a contractual association of several end consumers, tenants or owners to consume the electricity they produce themselves (usually solar power) on site. The EGC acts as a unit vis-à-vis the local end consumer. In addition, EVGs guarantee electricity consumers maximum benefit from jointly produced electricity.

Requirements for a ZEV

It is possible to benefit from a PSC if several end consumers join together to form a self-consumption group. This contractually agreed community acts as a unit above the distribution grid operator.

For electricity users and self-consumers to benefit, the following conditions must be met:

  • As soon as several energy consumers wish to benefit jointly from self-produced electricity, they must form a self-consumption community and agree on a joint energy product.
  • End consumers must purchase the electricity from a production plant within the same grid connection point.
  • The measurement of energy consumption must be adapted to the requirements of the ZEV.

By merging to form ZEV, it is now possible to sell the solar energy generated by the photovoltaic system directly to the tenant or condominium owner. The public grid is not used and therefore there are no costs for grid charges.

The advantages of a ZEV

  • Independence from energy suppliers
  • Lower levies
  • Relief for the grids
  • Lower electricity costs for the parties
  • Fulfillment of future requirements for new buildings/heating systems
  • Promotion of renewable energies
  • Higher returns thanks to optimized self-consumption
  • Increase in property value
  • Protection against rising electricity prices

Our solution

Since the introduction of the new billing law, a ZEV may be established if certain conditions are met. The electricity company's MID meter, which is subject to billing, remains the main meter. You will need additional energy meters in the property. This is the only way to determine the actual solar power consumed per party. There is not only a large selection of energy meters, but also differences in quality. Our ECS Compact are cost-effective and ideally suited for billing active energy. They have already been used successfully in numerous ZEV projects.

We will be happy to advise you on your project
