The number of owners of electric or hybrid vehicles is steadily increasing. Isn't it therefore important to offer tenants the opportunity to charge such a vehicle in their own parking lot?
This question was asked by the owner of a large development in Zurich. They have come to the conclusion that it is time to be prepared for the increasing demand for parking spaces with electric charging stations.
The developer's aim is to provide charging facilities for tenants and visitors.
Requirements of the client
- All tenant parking spaces are located in the underground garage. Those for visitors are outdoors, so IP protection and weatherproofing must be guaranteed.
- All charging stations should be operated with dynamic load management.
- Charging stations for visitor parking spaces should be subject to a charge.
- Charging solutions for tenant parking spaces must be connected to the respective apartment meter.
Our solution and the benefits for the customer
Due to the requirements, we used various charging stations. Our mobility one charging station was ideal for the tenant parking spaces in the underground garage. In the outdoor area, we were able to meet all customer requirements with our freestanding LS4 double station (2 x 22 Kw).
Thanks to the integrated meters, these charging solutions are the perfect products for use here. By means of an additional module, all measured data is transmitted via M-Bus to existing meters in the development. All of these existing meters were geared towards M-Bus.
Dynamic load management was connected via Ethernet. This ensured that the exchange between the charging stations worked smoothly. A meter at the feed-in point provides the necessary data so that the charging stations can regulate themselves.
Our technicians finally put the stations into operation. Tenants and visitors can now charge their electric vehicles safely and efficiently.
